Samsung isn’t the only company making a big announcement on the 20th of June. Sure, we doubt Facebook’s “coffee meeting” will be anything as grand as the Samsung Premiere event in London, but the rumours circulating the Facebook event just made it pretty interesting indeed.
According to TechCrunch, Facebook is set to announce a new feature on Instagram: support for short video uploads a la Vine. TechCrunch reports that the service would be similar to Vine, with video uploads to range from 5-10 seconds long, but with no mention of any support for filters as yet.
Adding video support for Instagram would come as a welcome response to the popularity of Vine, which recently made its way to Android. An added layer of interest is Twitter and Facebook’s increasingly competitive natures, after Instagram disabled integration with Twitter Cards, which is used for displaying images on Twitter in December last year – less than three months after Instagram was acquired by Facebook.
