How many parents here used to have an iPad but it has been taken over by your children? Welcome to the club. If you’re looking for a suitable app to download to keep your baby or young toddlers entertained, check out a pretty new Edutainment app developed by our local developers – Corner Room Studios. The company has released their first app called “At the Park” that prepares your child from his or her first experience to the park.
“It manages scenarios when parents bring their child to the park for the 1 st time … when a child goes through *new experiences* in their life. To manage their pre-expectation, then hand-holding their experience through-out, followed by reinforcement when they return home, after experiencing their new adventure.”
While I don’t quite agree with its description about preparing your toddlers for their grand debut at the playground – I personally feel that you can bring your baby to the playground as early as possible to give them exposure to the outside world – the app does come in handy when you wish to keep your baby or young toddler occupied for a good few minutes.
The app is very interactive, every single element from the animals to the plants and even the sun and cloud responds when touched. It allows children to explore the fun activities at the park such as look at the bird sing, go on a boat ride, have fun on a swing or watch the see saw go up and down, while the accompanying elements in each activity (croaking frog, swimming fish) enhances the experience.
We’re not saying that parents should use gadgets to babysit their child, but should you need to take a 5 minutes break so you can run to the toilet while your child can do his/her own thing, this is something you might want to consider. Plus, you can use it as a background music too because the app features originally composed music tunes of some of the most famous children nursery rhymes.
The app is available for download for USD$1.99 at the App Store. More information available at Corner Room Studios.
