It is well known that Nokia was working on a Lumia superphone that packs a massive camera sensor like that found on the 808 PureView, but it had managed to remain elusive to all, besides the occasional leaked specifications of the device. Until now, that is.
Images of the Nokia EOS device has finally appeared on the Internet, and it looks like the upcoming flagship Nokia Lumia will retain the same body as the Lumia 920. However, the back of the phone now has a massive camera module – much larger than that found on the 808 PureView, presumably to accommodate both the large camera sensor and the Optical Image Stabilisation technology found on the Lumia 920. It had been long rumoured that Nokia were indeed attempting to merge both technologies (the company had previously called it PureView Phase 1 and Phase 2) into a single device, and it appears that the Finns have managed to do so.
GSMarena has received images of the Nokia EOS from almost every angle, and a new Twitter account by the name of @vizileaks has posted two more. The Verge’s Tom Warren seems to confirm that this is not an elaborate hoax, so we may very well be looking at the final device.
Check out more images of the Nokia EOS after the jump.
