ASUS has just announced the new Transformer Pad Infinity tablet, a refresh from 2012’s tablet of the same name. Featuring the same concentric circle design that has become iconic of the company’s line of devices, the Transformer Pad Infinity is more than just another pretty ASUS tablet: it is one of the first mobile devices to be powered by NVIDIA’s new Tegra 4 processor, and features a staggeringly sharp 2560 x 1600 10.1-inch screen.
Powered by the new 1.9GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor featuring four Cortex-A15 cores, a 72-core GeForce GPU and 2GB of RAM, the new ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity is easily one of the most powerful tablets around. ASUS’ latest flagship tablet also sports a super sharp 2560 x 1600 IPS 10.1-inch multi-touch screen display, a healthy 32GB of storage (expandable via SD card slot on the dock), a 5MP rear camera and 1.2MP front-facing module, and also a USB 3.0 port. As mentioned above, there’s also a tablet dock, but ASUS has not yet revealed what’s on it. Finally, ASUS is also claiming that the new Transformer Pad Infinity can deliver 4K output via its HDMI port.
There’s no word on pricing and availability yet, but we’ll update the post when it is announced.
