adidas Malaysia has launched the new Nitrocharge boot, the company’s latest boot silo in its portfolio. Aimed at complementing a player profile adidas labels as “the engine”, the new adidas Nitrocharge boots strikes the perfect balance between comfort, protection and energy retention.
Featuring innovative new technologies such as the ENERGYSLING band and ENERGYPULSE sole plate, the new boots made their official debut at last weekend’s UEFA Champions League final and was worn by Bayern Midfielder Javi Martinez.

Designed for the “next generation” footballer, adidas reportedly spent two years in R&D to develop the new boot silo. After working with famed sports data company Opta, adidas found that there is a new, modern player profile called “the engine” – the player who gives 150% in every game, who covers every blade of grass on the pitch, and contributes both in defence and attack. As such, adidas crafted the new Nitrocharge boot with innovative technologies to retain energy as well as provide proper protection for sensitive tackle zones.
The ENERGYSLING technology found on the new adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 elite boots wraps around the midsole, and supports sidecut and quick turning movements on the pitch, which increases player reaction time. Also, the front portion of the sole plate features a zig-zagging ENERGYPULSE strip made from highly elastic materials. Inspired by the energy retention properties of a spring, the ENERGYPULSE strip provides optimum energy return during the off-toe phase of sprinting.
Protection pads are prominent both on the SPRINTFRAME heel counter as well as above it
In addition, players wearing the Nitrocharge 1.0 boots will also be happy to know that the Achilles tendon is well protected while wearing the boots, as active protection pads help absorb any nasty impacts from ill-timed tackles. There is also a protection mesh layer around the foot for other less-sensitive areas of the foot.
Finally, like other elite footwear in the adidas portfolio, the new Nitrocharge also features a miCoach SPEED_CELL, which collects data from every match and training session to help improve a player’s performance over time.
