May is finally coming to an end, according to the rumor mill, Samsung will be debuting new Samsung Galaxy S4 devices – the mini, Zoom and Active – some time this month and it looks like we’re getting closer. Fresh off the rumor mill are full specifications of the said devices.
First up, here are the specifications of the Galaxy S4 mini, which practically confirms what we’ve been reading about so far – 1.7GHz Snapdragon 400 processor – same chipset powering the Galaxy Megas, 540 x 960 qHD Super AMOLED display measuring at 4.3”, 1.5GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front shooter and runs on Android 4.2.2. The specs were revealed on an Antutu Benchmark app carrying the model number GT-i9195.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom is a camera-focused mobile device that may pack a lower specification compared to the original S4, but it comes with a camera that is said to compete against Nokia’s Lumia series. The Galaxy S4 Zoom’s rumored specs includes a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 4.3” Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540, 8GB of storage, will run on Android Jelly Bean, 1.900mAh battery, the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and here comes the interesting part – a 16MP rear camera with 10x optical zoom and of course, pack some neat Optical Image Stabilizer under the hood.
Finally last but not least, the rugged Galaxy S4 Active will pack some pretty high end specs with a tough, water- and dust-proof build – 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB RAM, 5” Full HD Super AMOLED display, 16/32GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD slot, 2,600mAh battery and will run on Android 4.2.2 out of the box.
These are certainly great devices to look forward to. Samsung will be hosting an event in London on 20 June 2013, possibly for the unveiling of these range of Galaxy S4 devices, but do you know what would be even cooler? A combination of them all in one device – a smaller but powerful Galaxy S4 which packs a super camera and is dust- and water-proof, that would definitely be my dream phone. So Samsung fans, the smartphone manufacturer currently has four pretty interesting devices to look forward to – S4 mini, Active and Zoom, along with the Galaxy Note III we wrote about yesterday, which is your pick?
