Limited edition bundles are rather common in video games industry but this one seems to have just set a new standard in that practice. Introducing the GRID 2: Mono Edition for PlayStation 3, which includes a real life car inside the package.
In fact, not just any given car – it is a 273kph (170mph) road-legal supercar called BAC Mono. Priced at around RM 572,573 (GBP 125,000), the GRID 2: Mono Edition will apparently made available for only one customer and has been graced by the Guinness World Records with the title of “Most Expensive Video Game Commercially Available – Special Edition”.
Apart from including a BAC Mono which is customized to the customer’s specifications and draped in GRID 2 livery, the bundle also features a full-day experience at BAC’s factory, a set of made-to-measure full race suit in BAC Mono and GRID 2’s branding, GRID 2: Mono Edition helmet by Bell Racing, a PlayStation 3 and the actual game itself with a special BAC Mono-themed artwork.
Last not least, the customer will also receive his or her GRID 2’s BAC Mono in six months rather than 14 months as per existing’s waiting list. Given that the price tag of a standard BAC Mono is already around RM 412, 198 (GBP 90,000), all the customization plus having the car to be delivered to you eight months earlier than usual is not a bad deal at all.
Of course, who are we kidding here? Meanwhile, if you wonder how it feels to drive BAC Mono on a normal road, click on the Read More link below to check out a clip by SuperVettura right after the jump.
