Samsung broke all kinds of sales records with 2012’s Galaxy S III, so it was pretty clear that the S III’s successor would have a similar sales record. Preliminary numbers from an unnamed company exec has revealed that in the first four days since the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S4, the Korean company shipped four million units to carriers and retailers worldwide. The exec also added that Samsung expects the number to hit 10 million by the end of the month.
It must be noted, however, that Samsung’s numbers do not reflect actual sales of the device, only the amount that it has delivered to be sold by retailers and carriers. On the other hand, to have such a large number in stock within days after its launch is testament to Samsung’s manufacturing efficiency.
Whether or not these impressive numbers will be reflected in the actual sales figures, time will soon tell. Don’t bet your house against it, though. The Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II both hit double digit sales figures in record times.
