EA are working with DICE, the creator of the Frosbite game engine that powers the popular “Battlefield” games franchise, to build a Frostbite game engine to mobile platforms. To be called Frostbite Go, the project is already underway and aims to “bring true Frostbite experiences to all mobile platforms”.
The new mobile division seeks to empower EA game developers with the Frostbite game engine, which is the most adopted game development platform within EA. The latest version of the engine, Frostbite 3, will debut on the new Battlefield 4 first-person shooter announced in March. However, DICE has so far not revealed any timelines as to when we will actually see the Frostbite Go engine.
