Looks like Nokia’s open secret of the new Lumia 928 is all but confirmed. Last Saturday My Nokia Blog posted an image of a billboard showing off the new Lumia 928, with Nokia proudly calling it “the best low-light smartphone camera”. If that’s not enough of a confirmation (or there are still doubts on the authenticity of the image), this next bit should convince everyone that the Lumia 928 is, indeed, coming very soon.
Engadget then found a two-page advert on Vanity Fair, proudly showing off the new Lumia 928 complete with a brief description of the new Lumia’s PureView and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) technology on its Carl Zeiss lenses. Finally, Nokia has taken the wraps off the Lumia 928 microsite, with little more than an image of the new Lumia 928 in action and a brief message: “Stay tuned for updates on the newest Nokia Lumia”.
An image of the rumoured aluminium-clad Lumia 925, codenamed Catwalk
To recap, the Lumia 928 is an updated Lumia 920 and a Verizon exclusive. Meanwhile, Nokia has two other flagship devices in the pipeline bearing the codenames Catwalk and EOS. The Nokia Catwalk will reportedly be known as the Lumia 925, and feature a new slim aluminium unibody as well as being an AT&T exclusive. The EOS, on the other hand, is a Lumia smartphone bearing a large PureView sensor similar to the 41MP sensor found in the 808 PureView. Recent rumours state that the two models may make their debut side-by-side at the company’s event to be held in London on May 14.
