Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy Core smartphone, yet another mid-range Android smartphone from the Korean giants. Featuring a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, the Galaxy Core sports a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 TFT LCD display and also 8GB of expandable storage.
In addition, the Android 4.1-running Galaxy Core also sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash featuring Samsung’s software enhancements such as Best Photo, Smile Shot and Share Shot. In front, the Galaxy Core, which will ship in single and dual-SIM variants, also packs a VGA camera. Connectivity options include the standard WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB 2.0 support. The 124g smartphone also fits a 1800mAh battery inside.
Finally, as with other Samsung smartphones with the TouchWiz skin, the Galaxy Core also features the usual suite of Samsung software enhancements, such as Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI, S Voice, and Voice Unlock.
The Samsung Galaxy Core smartphone will be available in two colours (dark blue and white), and will begin shipping from May, with the single-SIM variant to debut in July, depending on markets. Pricing details were also not revealed.
