Fresh from its beta release of one of the company’s most popular multiplayer FPS game, Left 4 Dead 2, Valve has now also released a beta version of the award-winning Portal game to Steam for Linux users.
Portal, the unique first-person shooter that revolves around the player solving a series of physics-based puzzles with the help of a experimental gun that shoots portals, is yet another title for Steam in Linux, with developers Valve calling it “a foretaste of the upcoming Valve’s titles for Linux” – which hints at more of the company’s games being ported in the future.
Those interested can install Portal beta for Linux via a variety of ways, including from Steam (direct link here, or via the Ubuntu Software Centre here) and downloading the game client on Steam here.
