BlackBerry may have some good news to those who have been clamouring over the new BlackBerry Q10, but hoping for a much lower price for a decent QWERTY smartphone. Some pictures of a rumoured BlackBerry R10 have emerged, with many claiming it to be a budget smartphone designed to appeal to the masses.
Engadget reports that the R10 will have a similar 3.1-inch screen size as the Q10, as well as a generous 2GB of RAM – possibly for the BlackBerry 10 platform’s multitasking capabilities. In addition, the R10 will have a smaller camera (5MP) and battery (1800mAh) compared to the more pricy Q10. In addition, the R10 will probably come in a variety of colours such as red, white and black.
So far, there is no concrete word on a release date for the R10, but a Q3 release has been mooted – expect to find out more during this week’s BlackBerry Live conference.
