A couple of weeks ago, LG’s Chief of Mobile, Won Kim, directly confirmed that the successor to its Optimus G – the LG Optimus G2, will be making its debut on the third quarter of the year but it looks like we won’t have to wait till then to see what the device will look like. EvLeaks recently leaked out a pretty sexy looking device that sports an LG logo right on the bottom and according to the serial leaker, it could very well be the Optimus G2 that has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now.
The button-less device comes with a curved glass design, thin bezel and a rather interesting earpiece. Although it shares some similar design cue with the Nexus 4, judging from the LG only logo located right below the screen, it should not be a successor to the Google phone. The LG Optimus G2 has been rumored with a 5” display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter that runs on Android 4.2 out of the box.
It’s a pity how LG does not have a strong presence in Malaysia, I was very impressed with the Optimus G we had for review. The Optimus G Pro, a device that directly competes with the greatest Android phones in the market now like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z, has recently made its way to the United States, while the Optimus G hasn’t even made its way to our shelves yet, not officially at least.
