The Ultimate Ears (UE) range of products by Logitech is the premium range of audio products, and is used by some of the top performing artistes in the world. Leveraging on the same technology, Logitech UE’s products are catered for the audio enthusiasts and those who want pure, undiluted music. The 2013 lineup launched this week enable people to enjoy music when and how they want, with a particular emphasis on wireless technology.
For example, the new UE Boombox puts a new spin on traditional wireless Bluetooth speakers. Featuring eight custom-tuned drivers, the UE Boombox delivers rich, balanced and clear sound with some raw bass. The Boombox also can pair with up to eight Bluet00th-enabled devices and has a connectivity range of up to 50 feet, which makes it a great addition to any party or gathering. Also, the Boombox sports an integrated aluminium handle for easy handling from one place to another – which will most likely be the case for the Boombox as it has a rechargeable battery that is good for six hours of uninterrupted playback.
If the UE Boombox is too large, there’s also the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox. Like the larger Boombox, the Mobile Boombox has a Bluetooth connectivity range of up to 50 feet, but it can only pair with two devices at a time. On the other hand, the Mobile Boombox is also capable of doubling up as a speakerphone for voice and video calls, and the rechargeable battery is also rated for up to 10 hours of playback. Being a highly mobile device, this portable speaker also sports metal finishes and rubber casing for extra durability.
For the classic radio lovers, there’s the Logitech UE Smart Radio. It is capable of streaming online radio and music services, as well as music stored on the PC or Mac, and there’s even an app (UE Smart Radio Controller for iOS and Android) which transforms a smartphone or tablet into a “master music controller”. The app allows a user to seamlessly navigate between their music service, radio stations as well as personal music collection. There’s even a colour screen on the UE Smart Radio that displays album art, track and also station information, in addition to saving playlists and favourite stations. The Smart Radio is also equipped with a rechargeable battery that is good for up to six hours of playback.
However, if you prefer your music to be a little more personal, Logitech UE has also launched four new headphones as well as one noise-isolating earphones. The UE 9000 wireless headphones is the top-of-the-range model among the headphones, and features wireless Bluetooth connectivity as well as an optional flat cable which also charges the headphones. The UE 9000 headphones feature high-resolution drivers that deliver rich, clear and perfectly tuned sound. In addition, the active noise cancelling technology and design cues of the UE 9000, such as asymmetrical memory foam cushions, articulating joints, around-the-ear design that conforms to the contours of the head make the UE 9000 headphones one of the most comfortable premium headphones around. Also, the discreetly-placed controls allow users to select songs, adjust the volume and even answer calls easily.
Also announced were the UE 6000 earphones, designed to be highly mobile for those who are always on the go. These headphones fold up like sunglasses for easy carriage while still maintaining the high-quality UE sound signature that delivers a remarkable level of detail. Like the UE 9000, the UE 6000 also feature active noise cancelling technology. However, the UE 6000 also comes with a splitter for quick and easy music sharing. These wired headphones also sport memory foam cushions as well as breathable surfaces that are as soft as leather.
On the other hand, those who prefer in-ear monitors (IEMs) are also not left out. The UE 900 noise isolating earphones deliver audio quality that is so good, it is only bettered by UE’s professional custom IEMs. These premium IEMs feature four-armature speakers and a three-way crossover in a universal fit, which results in one of the best audio experiences for IEMs. Also, the UE 900 will come with five silicon as well as three Comply foam tips which are designed with a large-bore opening for clean delivery of audio.
Finally, Logitech UE also announced two other headphones, which are the UE 3600 and UE 4500. The UE 4500 connects to multiple devices wirelessly via Bluetooth as well as a micro USB Plug and Forget receiver. On the other hand, the wired UE 3600 comes with a wired microphone as well as “floating” earmuffs and adjustable headband. However, both headphones will only be available in Malaysia sometime in June this year.
