Vertu has always been known for ludicrously priced luxury handsets, making use of some of the rarest and most exotic materials known to man. The ironic thing however is that for such a luxury phone, the OS was always the biggest letdown. Prior to this round, Vertu’s were always “powered” by an ancient form of Symbian OS. Recently, Vertu has actually come out of the deepest recesses of ancient history with their new handset, the Vertu TI.
Now powered by the “not-so-latest” version of Android OS, Android 4.0 ICS, the Vertu TI sports a dual core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with 64GB internal memory. The Vertu TI also has an 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera as well as the standard 1080p video capture and get this, Full/Micro/Nano SIM support. Perhaps the highlight for these handsets besides the pricetag for me was the incredible build of the device. Featuring a full titanium case which is pretty damn strong coupled with the lovely leather finish and sapphire crystal 3.7inch screen, it certainly does feel like a premium smartphone. Aside from that, it also features the standard Vertu Concierge service which is available 24/7.
The Vertu TI starts at RM34,500 for the Titanium Black Leather model, RM41,200 for the Titanium Pure Black model and an astonishing RM73,000 for the Black PVD Titanium Red Gold Mixed Metals model
