Still waiting for your Mailbox service on your iOS device to get activated? Well, while you’re still waiting for the perfect email client to be made available to you, behind hundreds of thousands of other people in line, Dropbox announced that it has bought over Mailbox for a rumored price of USD$100 Million.
Just in case you were wondering, Mailbox is an email app for iOS devices that reinvents your email experience on a mobile device. It relies on simple swipe gestures to allow users to delete or snooze an email. When introduced, Mailbox was one of those apps that everyone wants to use straight away, so much so that it currently has got over 500,000 users waiting (at the of time of writing).
Dropbox hasn’t mentioned how it will implement Mailbox to its services yet, but it’ll definitely be something to look forward to, like Dropbox attachments in emails perhaps. All 14 members of the Mailbox team will be joining Dropbox and both services will be working hand-in-hand to make things better, hopefully, to open up Mailbox as soon as possible; there are 530,000 people ahead of me right now.
