We love it when rival companies make fun of each other. We’ve seen it plenty of times, via video, Facebook posts or even on the company’s website. But we take our hats off to LG for taking it to the streets.
As Engadget reports, the Korean company has held an advertising space in New York’s Times Square for the past 20 years, before Samsung took up the billboard spot directly below LG’s last year. And, given Samsung’s imminent Galaxy S IV launch coming tomorrow morning happening in the area, LG has decided to have some fun with its billboard space, by advertising its latest Optimus G flagship smartphone.
By mimicking Samsung’s big “4” as well as white and black background, the other Korean giants’ billboard states that the company’s Optimus G is already available – which springs to mind Samsung’s previous jibe at Apple’s iPhone fanbase with its “The Next Big Thing is Already Here” ad campaign.
