We’ve seen Google gradually improving the super-cool Glass, most recently with its app integration on Glass’ UI, as well as a video demo of Google Glass in action as part of its announcement of retailing an “Explorer Edition” for the public by the end of this year. However, one pressing questions that many a bespectacled member of the public is whether there is support for prescriptions for Glass. Google has remained mum for quite some time on this issue, but the company has finally spoken.
Via a Google+ post by Project Glass, Google has announced that it is indeed working on a Glass with support for prescription lenses. According to Google, the modular Glass design allows users to add frames and lenses that match their prescription. Unfortunately, the design for prescription frames will not be ready in time for a simultaneous release with the Explorer Edition, but Google expects it to be released later this year.
