If there is one single question that we have been asked whenever Windows Phone comes into a discussion, it would be the “is there Instagram on Windows Phone?” question. There was even one time where I personally received a remark that stated: “what is the use of a smartphone without Instagram?”. Sounds a bit shallow but nevertheless, that shows the level of popularity that Instagram has achieved over the masses.
Just few days ago, Nokia has released an app for its line of Lumia Windows Phone devices called #2InstaWithLove. As the name suggested, it is indeed an Instagram-like app which allows users to apply filters to their photo and share it to the app’s official site as well as other social networks with #2InstaWithLove hashtag attached to it.
What got us curious though is the app’s about page (shown below) which stated “…the #2InstaWithLove app was created as a way for you to have your voice heard,”. By that, we supposed that the app is Nokia’s way to request for the official app from Instagram which we must say quite smart.
Then again, here’s the thing: Instagram for Windows Phone has been in development since months ago as confirmed by Tom Warren of The Verge through this article back in September last year and again, in a recent tweet. So, what Nokia’s 2InstaWithLove app is actually about? Our guesses are as good as yours, to be honest.
Well, Microsoft and Instagram…just release the damn app already, so we call can move along with our lives.
