Tizen, the upcoming mobile operating system co-developed by Intel and Samsung, has just announced the source codes and software development kit (SDK) for Tizen 2.0, codenamed Magnolia. They will be available for download for Windows XP (32 bit), Windows 7 (32/64 bit), Ubuntu (32/64 bit) as well as Mac OS X.
Among other things, the latest release of Tizen includes additional APIs for Bluetooth and NFC support, as well as access to the device’s calendar, call history and messaging subsystems. The Web UI framework also supports full-screen and multi-window setups. Finally, the new release will also feature an enhanced Web framework that supports state-of-the-art HTML5/W3C API.
