In 2009, I was a part of the attempt to set the world record for the longest LAN Party and we actually did it by clocking 40 hours of continuous gaming. However, me and 290 comrades are not anywhere close to George Leutz who have recently played the classic arcade game Q*bert for more than 80 hours in order to break a world record for the game.
With a total time of 84 hours and 50 minutes, Leutz have managed to score 37,163,080 points to overcome the previous world record – 33,273,520 points – which was conceived in 1983. That means Leutz has played Q*bert for around three days before he finally loses his last life in the game. Additionally, Leutz endurance attempt has also overtake previous record of 68.5 hours which was set by another hardcore Q*bert player Ed Heemskerk last year.
Don’t forget, all these records were achieved using only a single quarter. Madness.
