Not content with electronics companies taking centrestage, Corning will be showcasing its latest Gorilla Glass 3 glass composition at next week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). As usual, the new version builds upon the already awesome Gorilla Glass 2 with more protective features. For example, Corning will introduce its new proprietary Native Damage Resistance (NDR) feature on Gorilla Glass 3. NDR will reduce the “propagation of flaws” and “appearance of scratches”, as well as maintaining the overall strength of the glass.
The NDR feature on Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 also means a 300% increase in scratch resistance, in addition to a 40% reduction of visible scratches on the glass. Corning will be extensively demonstrating its Gorilla Glass 3 on the floor at CES next week, in addition to its other new products.
