Remember the Ubuntu Developer Preview? The developer-centric platform for the new alternative mobile operating system was announced for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 devices back in February, before an expanded feature set was released in October. Unfortunately, the process of installing the OS required some knowledge in flashing an Android device, not to mention the lack of support for several features that make Ubuntu impractical for use as a primary device.
Now, Canonical has announced that dual-booting Ubuntu and Android on a single Nexus device is now possible. For now, only the Nexus 4 is supported, but the dual-boot feature works seamlessly via the Ubuntu Dual Boot app, making it a pain-free process.
If you’re feeling adventurous, head on to the this Wiki guide for a step-by-step guide on dual-booting Ubuntu to your Nexus 4.
