All good things must come to an end and last Friday, 20 December 2013, was the official end for what was once upon a time, the best music player in the market, Winamp. The music player has officially been removed by AOL for good and is no longer available for download however, for those of you who miss it so much and would like to use Winamp, you know, for old times sake, Spotify recently announced its Spotiamp, a lightweight Spotify player that looks just like Winamp.
Available for Spotify Premium users only, Spotiamp looks almost identical to Winamp and lets you play songs on your Spotify playlist. Just like a regular Spotify player, Spotiamp allows you to search for tracks to play and also offers radio too. Spotiamp also supports Winamp visualization plugins, so if you still have a collection of all those awesome visualizations you used on Winamp, don’t delete them, port them to Spotiamp and listen to the songs like it’s 1998.
