Motorola may have ceased its operations in Malaysia, but that doesn’t mean there will not be any Moto products making their way here via official channels. According to an insider, the Moto G – arguably the best value-for-money Android smartphone right now – will be officially coming to Malaysia in early January.
The Moto G is intended for a large worldwide distribution, with particular emphasis on emerging markets such as Asia and South America. At its official announcement in Brazil, Motorola confirmed that Malaysia would be one of the countries receiving the Moto G, but with the lack of the company’s regional presence, it was unclear how this would be accomplished.
An insider told Lowyat.NET that the Moto G will be launched in Malaysia on January 10 via one of Motorola’s official distributors, and will retail at a price that will likely be a very pleasant surprise, supposedly staying very close to the $199 US retail price. We’re also told that the 8GB variant will not be available here.
To recap, the Moto G is a 4.5-inch 720p LCD display, and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM. There’s also a 2070mAh battery fitted in the 11.6mm chassis, and feature colourful interchangeable covers.
Now that the Moto G’s arrival is all but confirmed, will you be getting one?
