I guess it’s safe to say that most flagship 5” smartphones in the market has a “mini” version – the HTC One mini, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, Sony Xperia Z1f/s (a 4.3” Xperia Z1 for the Japanese market / the rumored international Z1 mini), and it looks like the Asus Padfone Infinity is no exception. Asus will soon be taking the curtains off its Padfone mini, the manufacturer has already sent out an invitation to media in its home country for a Padfone mini launch event.
But we don’t have to wait till then to check out how it will look like, thanks to @evleaks, images of the Padfone mini have made their way to the internet ahead of the launch, showing off not only a smaller smartphone, but also a smaller tablet dock. Like most of the “minis” out there, the Padfone mini will come with a 4.3” display and less powerful hardware on the inside such as a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, a lower resolution display and only 3G connectivity instead of LTE. It will work like the existing Asus Padfone but instead of a full-sized 10” tablet, the Padfone mini will have a 7” dock.
Unfortunately though, the invitation is only for Taiwan with no hints of whether it’ll get an international launch. If it does, will its new mini size and hopefully a more affordable price tag attract you to the Asus Padfone mini?
