No matter how many mobile messaging apps there are out there, nothing will ever be able to replace the regular old SMS function on your smartphone (where else will you get your verification code for those messaging apps?), so what better way to enhance a messaging app than to integrate SMS into it?
A couple of weeks ago, Google added SMS functionality to its Hangouts chat app and today, Samsung has done the same for its ChatON service. Available in selected countries only, the latest version of ChatON integrates both SMS and MMS support for all Samsung devices running on Android 4.0 and above. I haven’t gotten it on my Note 3 yet but according to Sammobile, SMS and MMS will be displayed shown along with those sent over the internet into the same chat list.
So Samsung users, will this encourage you to use ChatON, or do you prefer sticking to the good old SMS and mobile messaging apps you’ve been using all the while?
