Most users know Qualcomm as the people that develop processors for plenty of smartphones and tablets out there in the market right now. However, the company have actually embarked in another area which somehow has become quite popular as of late.
That area is of course, the smartwatch business. That’s right: Qualcomm recently have revealed their own take on smartwatch in the form of Qualcomm Toq (pronounced as “talk”) and yesterday, they have that it will be released to public on 2 December 2013 through their official website and Amazon for USD 349.99 (RM 1,115).
Design to work with smartphones that run Android version 4.0.3 and above through Bluetooth connectivity, one of Toq’s highlight is its always-on Mirasol reflective display technology on its touch screen which enabled users to glance at information at any given time just like a traditional wristwatch. Despite that, Qualcomm claimed that Toq can be operated for “multiple days” before it needs to recharge.

Of course, the Toq comes with the standard set of features that one would expect from a smartwatch such as ability to accept or reject calls as well as to view message and notifications. The Qualcomm Toq also comes standard with wireless charging case that can be used to charge the optional Bluetooth wireless stereo headset that will be made available separately in the market.
At the time being, the Qualcomm Toq smartwatch will only be available in United States come this December while availability for other countries will be announced at later date.
