There might be some glitches here and there but things have been going well for PlayStation 4 so far, in general. Released to the public in North America last week complete with a huge launch event at New York, the console’s immediate sales numbers pretty much speaks by itself.
According to the tweet by Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios who manages the first party game development for PlayStation, the company have managed to sell over 1 million PlayStation 4 within 24 hours of the console’s launch in North America. This fact is further strengthen by the official announcement by SCE’s President and Group CEO, Andrew House.
As a comparison, PlayStation 3 global sales numbers after 7 years in the market is said to be around 80 million units as of earlier this month. With that, PlayStation 4 is certainly off to a good start and let’s see how it will fare in our market come this December. Let’s hope that Malaysia’s PS4 don’t come with all those launch unit issues…
