The days of fiddling with your Android device for hours, methodically following each step in search for the holy grail of rooting the device, looks to be gone for good. Gaining root access on an Android smartphone or tablet has been made iteratively easier over the years and now, there’s an app for that.
CyanogenMod, one of the most popular Android ROMs among Android power users, has released the CyanogenMod Installer app for Android in the Google Play Store. With the app installed on an unlocked Android device you’re looking to root to CyanogenMod, the app does almost every part of the rooting and installation process for you – and all you need to do is to plug the device to a PC which has the CyanogenMod desktop client installed.
Unfortunately, while the app can be downloaded on any Android device, CyanogenMod can only be installed on certain specific devices, of which a link can be found on the link here. Also, it must also be noted that rooting an Android device immediately voids manufacturer warranty – though the risks of bricking your device is now much lower compared to, say, a year ago.
Head on to the CyanogenMod Installer app link on the Google Play Store here to download the app.
