Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a new game in the Middle Earth universe. To be called “Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor”, the game will see an entirely original storyline set in JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth, and will be developed by Monolith Productions, who also developed the “Guardians of Middle Earth” MOBA title as well as the “F.E.A.R.” horror first-person series.
In “Shadow of Mordor”, players will assume the role of Talion, a Ranger who was killed by Sauron’s forces, and is resurrected with “Wraith abilities” and vengeance in his mind. Monolith will introduce a unique “Nemesis System” in the game, where a player’s actions will determine the consequence in future conflicts. Hence, every gameplay will be uniquely different based on the decisions players make.
At this point in development, there is still little to go by; a reveal trailer isn’t even announced yet. There are, however, official social media pages that you can follow and stay in touch with development. “Shadow of Mordor” will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC, but a potential release date has not been revealed.
