An image uploaded on Samsung Mobile Malaysia’s Facebook page over the weekend teased a probable arrival of the company’s child-oriented tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids. The tablet, which was announced at the end of August, was aimed at developing educational possibilities among children and expose them to technology at a young age.
The tablet, which is based on the Galaxy Tab 3 tablet, sports 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, a 7-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 3MP rear camera with a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The tablet also sports optional kid-friendly accessories such as a grip, multi-stand as well as a C Pen stylus. Samsung will pre-load the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids tablet with a suite of kids-oriented apps, and bundle it with parental controls.
Interestingly, the original announcement did not reveal an Asian region rollout besides China, so the teaser image on Samsung Malaysia’s Facebook page is a surprise. We’ve reached out to Samsung Malaysia for a comment, and will update the post when we receive a reply.
