Lenovo Malaysia has launched its new Miix10 Windows 8 tablet, alongside new additions to its IdeaPad laptop lineup: the S210 Touch, S410p Touch and the Y410p multimedia laptop. The Miix10 tablet is the company’s first Windows 8 tablet in the Malaysian market, while the new IdeaPads further expand Lenovo’s competitive laptop lineup – especially the Y410p.
Article continues after the jump.
Lenovo Tablet Miix10
As mentioned earlier, the Lenovo Tablet Miix10 is the company’s first consumer Windows 8 tablet in Malaysia (its previous ThinkPad Helix was focused for enterprise solutions). The Miix10 tablet was first showcased earlier this year at Computex 2013, despite it not being officially announced at the time. Its hardware specs has not changed since then, where it retains the older Intel Atom Clover Trail Z2760 dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM. There is 64GB of internal eMMC storage, it can be further expanded by an extra 64GB via microSD.
The Miix10 sports a 10.1-inch IPS multi-touch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, and has a 1MP front-facing camera but no rear camera. Connectivity wise, the Miix10 has a microUSB port, 2-in-1 audio jack, microHDMI, and WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as optional 3G HSPA+ (via microSIM cards).
This 580g tablet also packs in a 6800mAh 2-cell battery, and is encased in a pretty sturdy chassis with a metal back cover. Lenovo will also offer a folio case with integrated keyboard that will be sold separately.
Lenovo S210 Touch
For those looking for a small Windows 8 laptop, Lenovo’s got the S210 Touch. With it’s 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 screen, it’s highly portable but with extra power. Packing an Intel Core i3-3217U 1.8GHz processor with 4GB of RAM, the S210 Touch also has integrated Intel HD graphics, while sporting a large 500GB hard disk.
It’s also worth noting that the hinges on this laptop are very good for supporting the multi-touch display – the lid barely moved as we poked and swiped the screen. As a conventional laptop, there are two USB ports (1x USB 3.0) as well as a full-sized HDMI port.
Lenovo S410p Touch
The S410p is equipped with the latest 4th-gen Intel Haswell processors, and come in two processor options. Both variants sport 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive, discrete NVIDIA GT720M graphics, 14-inch 1366 x 768 multi-touch displays, DVD burner, and 3USB ports (2x USB 3.0).
As for the processor options, the lower-end variant is equipped with an Intel Core i3-4010U 1.7GHz processor, while the pricier option packs an Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6GHz processor with Turbo Boost.
A 15-inch version, the S510p Touch, is also available.
Lenovo Y410p
Finally, there’s the interesting IdeaPad Y410p. Powered by an Intel Core i7-4700MQ quad-core 2.4GHz processor with 8GB of RAM, and also packing a powerful NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, this laptop functions pretty well as a budget gaming laptop as well.
There’s also a 1TB hard disk, while the display is a 14-inch 1366 x 768 display (non-touch). Besides that, there are 3 USB ports (2x USB 3.0) as well as HDMI-out. The key difference here, however, is the unique UltraBay feature only found on the Y410 and Y510 laptops and its predecessors. It allows users to swap out the DVD drive and insert one of three items: an additional hard disk drive, an extra fan, or best of all, a second NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GPU in an SLI array.
In addition, a 15.6-inch Full HD version, the Y510p, is also available in two configurations.
Availability
All three IdeaPad laptops are already available in the market for some time now, and come with two years limited international warranty for the Y410p and S410p, while the S120 Touch will come with a one-year limited international warranty. The Tablet Miix10, we’ve been told, will be hitting retail outlets “within the next two or three weeks”.
As for prices, the IdeaPad Y410p is priced at RM3199, the S410p Touch from RM1999, while the S210 Touch is going for RM1699. All three laptops come bundled with a 3-year licence for McAfee Internet Security. The retail price for the Tablet Miix10, however, is not yet confirmed.
