Yahoo! has certainly been going through a lot of changes in the past couple of months – from acquiring new companies to killing off its old services and even announcing new and better features on existing products, and it looks like the company has got more to offer starting today. In celebration of its 16th birthday, Yahoo! has launched a new Flickr/ Tumblr inspired design for its Yahoo! Mail.
If you log on to your Yahoo! Mail on the web, iOS or via Android, you’ll see a brand new interface and enhanced tools that are aimed at simplifying your life. First up, you will be able to set themes for your inbox; pick a theme and it will be applied across all your devices, giving it a much, much prettier outlook. The new Yahoo! Mail will also allow you to be more efficient – search, starring and deleting are now just a click away when you hover over an email; you will also be able to collapse the left-hand toolbar for more space, allowing better productivity. Finally, Yahoo! also announced that they are putting a caps on their email service and not with only a couple of gigabytes of space, but a whopping 1TB, enough for 6,000 years of email, says Yahoo!.
Honestly, I’ve personally never used Yahoo! products before – I do have accounts registered under Flickr, Yahoo! Mail and Tumblr, I just never used them for long, The new design might turn things around though, who could say no to such an attractive new design along with 1TB of space? The new design is currently available in selected countries and yes, Malaysia is one of them.
