The PlayStation Award is an annual ceremony that is held for PlayStation titles that have achieved significant amount of shipments in the market and since its inception in 1995, more than 270 games have received recognitions at the event. Thanks to the merge of SCE Japan and Asia that took place earlier this year, PlayStation Awards 2013 will now include votes from gamers in other regions of Asia including Malaysia.
Specifically, these votes will be used determine the 10 winners of the Users’ Choice Award. Interestingly, all Asian (by that, we mean outside of Japan) gamers voted for the award will have the chance to win the brand new PlayStation 4 or the slimmer, lighter PlayStation Vita (PCH-2000).
That being said, only two PlayStation 4 units have been allocated in total for voters in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia which is rather unbalanced. Fortunately, the allocation of the PlayStation Vita Slim is much more balanced with four units in total to be given away among these four countries.
