If you’ve always wondered who the person behind the original voice of Siri is, say hello to Susan Bennett, the lady who has been providing weather forecasts, rejecting marriage proposals, and making “Glass” jokes to millions of users around the world. When she first signed up for the deal eight years ago with GM Voices, she had no idea what it would be and where her voice would end up, but on October two years ago when Siri was first launched on the iPhone 4S, she received a call from a friend asking if Siri was her. Bennett then went to her computer, listened to Siri and immediately knew it was her:
“Oh, I knew, It’s obviously me. It’s my voice.” Susan Bennett said in an interview with CNN.
It’s not confirmed though, both Nuance and Apple did not commented on this matter, but according to professionals who are familiar with her voice, as well as audio-forensics expert with 30 years of experience, they are 100% certain that Susan Bennett is indeed Siri. Susan Bennett has been the voice of many products and companies including Delta terminal, the first ATM machine (Tillie the All-Time Teller) and many more.
Check out the interview at CNN’s page, we can now finally put a face to Siri.
