Seems like it is a very productive day for Microsoft Surface tablets right here in Malaysia as here comes another announcement from Microsoft Malaysia regarding their flagship Windows tablet. However, so sorry to burst your bubble though as this particular announcement is (still) not about Surface 2.
In addition to the Surface’s availability for commercial sectors, Microsoft Malaysia have also announced seven new authorized Surface retailers in Malaysia which include Aone Plus Supplies & Services, IT One Superstore, Machanics, MTCS Group, PC Image, SenQ and Viewnet Computer System.
With that, the amount of retailers that members of the public are able to purchase their Surface RT and Surface Pro from have now increased to 11 in addition to existing retailers such as Challenger, Harvey Norman, SNS Network, and Thunder Match.
I see the retail network expansion of Surface tablets in Malaysia as a positive move by Microsoft but as consumers are generally paying more attention to Surface 2 rather than the original Surface, I do feel that Surface 2 will most probably benefit more from the retail network expansion than its older siblings. Of course, that is only applicable if and only if Microsoft decided to actually release Surface 2 here in Malaysia.
