It looks like Asus has a brand new PadFone to show off, say hello to the PadFone Infinity that was just announced in Taipei earlier today. On the outside, the device looks pretty much the same as its predecessor with a 5” Full HD Super IPS panel, 2,400mAh battery at the back and a 2MP front camera on board, but if you look closely, it now features a new diamond cut on the metallic back side, giving it a more premium and solid outlook than the original version.
On the insides, Asus has also bummed up its specs, giving it none other than a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It also comes with a new microSD card slot and in conjunction with its new expandable memory capability, Asus also reduced the internal storage options to 16GB/32GB instead of 32GB/64GB on the original. While the rear camera may have the same 13MP f/2.0 shooter, Asus has chosen to improve the software side of the camera instead, giving it a new feature called PixelMaster, which combines multiple pixels to form a smaller but sharper and cleaner 3MP image.
To be available in Titanium Black and Platinum White, the LTE-enabled PadFone Infinity will cost NT$18,990 (approximately RM2,080) while the tablet dock is priced at NT$7,000 (approximately RM770).
