On top of introducing new Windows 8 Ultrabooks and an AIO PC, Lenovo also announced several mobile devices – the Lenovo S5000 tablet and Lenovo Vibe X smartphone, both featuring a sleek design with “intelligent performance and a vibrant viewing experience”.
First up, the Lenovo Vibe X, aka IdeaPhone S960, is a 5” Full HD smartphone powered by a MediaTek processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage on board. It comes with a 13MP rear shooter and a large 5MP front wide-angle camera at 84-degree, making it the perfect device for selfies; yes it also has a face enhancement feature that gives you the skin you wish you really have. Other specs include 2,000mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.2.
Design wise, the Vibe X is made using polycarbonate with advanced mold, laser-engraved 3D tactile finish. Coupled with Gorilla Glass 3 on board, Lenovo managed to design the device measures at only 6.9mm thin, with a weight of approximately 121grams.
The S5000 tablet is a 7” tablet with a modest resolution of 1280 x 800 with 350 nit brightness and full HD wide-viewing angle. It has some average specs under its hood like a 1.2GHz Media Tek 8389 processor, 5MP rear shooter, 1.6MP front camera, Android 4.2 OS, 3G connectivity and a 3,450mAh battery.
The Lenovo Vibe X will be available in China starting in October and in countries where Lenovo smartphones are being sold in beginning of December. The S5000 will be available in Q4 2013. Lenovo also announced the K900 smartphone which will also be available later this year.
