Not everything announced at IFA 2013 have to be the top of the line, featuring the latest and greatest technology as well as the most expensive price tag. Asus announced a budget laptop, the X102BA Ultraportable that is powered by the latest AMD A Series APU. The laptop features a 10.1” 1366 x 768 display with 10-point multitouch for responsive fingertip control with Windows 8 and ships with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 on board.
Specs wise, it is powered by an AMD A4-1200 1GHz dual-core APU with Radeon HD 8180 graphics. With the company’s Super Hybrid Engine II technology on board, it offers a smartphone-like experience with “Instant On” and has over two weeks of standby time and automatic data backup in sleep mode when battery level drops below 5%. It packs a mediocre hardware under its hood including 2GB of RAM and 320GB of HDD space.
No pricing information has been released, but with full version of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 on board and the company touting that it has an affordable price, it will definitely be something to look forward to.
