Is the colorful iPhone 5C the real deal? Well, less than a week more before we find that out for sure but for now, we can continue playing the guessing game. After releasing a colorful invitation for the folks in the United States, Apple has just sent out the same invitation, this time for the journalists in China to attend a special event on 11 September 2013 in Beijing China. Colorful invitation plus the same launch event immediately after the one in U.S., the team must definitely have something a little different to announce this time round, right?
Meanwhile, while it is highly unlikely that Apple will unveil its next generation iPads at the show, that doesn’t mean that the rumors and leaks should stop. We’ve been reading that the next generation iPad (iPad 5?) will come with a new design that looks like the current iPad mini, it will have pretty much the same looks with a button in the middle, a thinner and more squarish body, but just how much difference would that make? Quite a lot it seems, a new video has now been released, showing off the purported iPad 5’s casing next to the new iPad, showing a much smaller device.
If the parts are real, it means that iPad 5 will be significantly narrower in terms of width but still pack the same display. Thanks to the slimmer bezel and thinner design, the iPad 5 is so much smaller, that it can even be held in one hand like a smartphone, that is, if you have large hands. The overall design does look a whole lot nicer and while it may still look like the same old iPad / iPhone design, at least there’s an improvement from the identical iPad we’ve been seeing the past couple of years.
With so many exciting announcements scheduled for the upcoming week – Sony Honami / Z1, Sony smartphone camera lens, Samsung Galaxy Note III, Samsung Galaxy Gear and iPhone 5S / 5C, which one(s) are you looking forward to the most?
