The upcoming camera phone from Sony – Sony Honami / Xperia Z1, is all but confirmed, the company has already posted various teasers showing off the device, the latest video teaser practically shows off how it will look like and now, check out the latest press release leak that confirms some of the rumored specs that we’ve been reading about. The original image has been removed, so you’ll have to bear with the tiny one above.
According to the release, the Z1 will come with a 5” TFT Triluminous display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage on board. As with most of the latest Xperia devices, it will be IP55/58 certified for dust and water resistance. Camera wise, it will pack a G lens, ½.3” 20.7MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor on board with 27mm wide angle and bright f2.0 aperture on board. Measuring at 144 x 74 x 8.5mm with a weight of 170 grams, it will run on Android 4.2.2 out of the box and will be available in the usual trio of color options – black, white and purple.
In a separate leak, probably some promotional paper for the Z1, it looks like Sony will be offering a free Sony SmartWatch 2 for every order. The promotion is sadly, only for UK carrier, EE.
