Along with the Liquid S2 smartphone and a refreshed Acer Aspire R7, Acer also took the curtains off a new Android tablet – the Acer Iconia A3 that is targeted at movie and music lovers. Featuring a 10.1” 1280 x 800 IPS display, the Iconia A3 comes with Dolby Digital Plus audio, wide viewing angles and quad-core performance for an immersive entertainment experience.
Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core cortex A4 processor with either 16GB or 32GB of storage on board that is expandable via microSD, the Iconia A3 uses Dolby Digital Plus for a virtualized 5.1 channel surround experience over headphones, reduced background noise and dialogue volume boost resulting in clear dialogues and consistent volume levels without sways across content and apps. The wide viewing angle coupled with a 16:10 aspect ratio allows users to watch movies or play games in landscape mode and share the view with a loved one. Other specs include Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, 9hours of video playback, Android 4.2, 5MP rear camera that is capable of capturing 360-degree pictures, and measures at 10.15mm thin with a weight of less than 600 grams.
It will be available in Europe, Middle East and Africa in early October from €249 for WiFi version or a 3G versin from €299.
