If you are a frequent user of Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud-based storage service, you might want to take note of this news. Apparently, Microsoft has agreed to rename the SkyDrive’s name in order to comply to a recent ruling by a UK court that the name infringes on a trademark that is owned by British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB).
However, BSkyB still allowed Microsoft to use the SkyDrive name while the Redmond giant figure out a new name to replace it. Not to forget, this change will take place throughout the world although no actual time frame have been mentioned.
In my opinion, SkyDrive is already quite a catchy name and I expect that Microsoft is going to have a hard time finding a suitable replacement. Well, do you have any suggestion for them?
