Samsung Malaysia has rolled out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to Samsung Galaxy S4 devices in Malaysia. For now, the update is available for the Exynos variant (GT-I9500) of Samsung’s flagship smartphone, but the LTE variant is expected to receive a similar update soon (Update: the update for the LTE variant (GT-9505) had been rolled out earlier). The update is a sizeable one, amounting to some 670MB, and is available via its Kies software and over-the-air (OTA).
The Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 tweaks many features on the Galaxy S4, such as introducing an improved TouchWiz launcher, improved RAM management, a new stock virtual keyboard, and a new stock browser. Samsung’s KNOX security suite will also be pre-installed, and a new camera firmware which should improve performance on the device’s capable 13MP sensor.
Additionally, the new update also adds support for Samsung’s first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear – just as Samsung announced back in September.
