In conjunction with the “Here to Play | Here to Stay” Asia tour, 2011-2012 UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea Football Club not only played a friendly match with our very own Harimau Malaya national team last weekend, but also organized an exclusive training session with 65 children from Chelsea soccer schools from around the world. Five members of the senior Chelsea squad, including goalkeeper Petr Cech and new £18m man Andre Schurrle, were present to provide guidance and coaching alongside the soccer school staff.
Lowyat.NET were invited to an exclusive interview session with the five players, offering us a chance to ask the football stars some questions ranging from goal-line technology, Jose Mourinho as well as adidas’ 10-year partnership with Chelsea. Check out the interview after the jump!
The five players present last weekend were 23-year-old Ryan Bertrand, the talented full back touted as the natural successor to Ashley Cole; 20-year-old Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel; young defender Tomáš Kalas; 22-year-old attacking midfielder Andre Schurrle, fresh from his £18m transfer from German outfit Bayer Leverkusen; and the ever-present and influential goalkeeper Petr Cech.
This exclusive interview was made possible by adidas Malaysia.
