In what seems to us as among the most pre-launch leaked product ever, Nokia have officially unveiled the brand new Nokia Lumia 1020. Just like what we have wrote earlier today, the new Lumia 1020 is indeed the Windows Phone 8 device with 41-megapixels PureView camera as its main photography tool.
Specifications-wise, it is also exactly just like what been revealed earlier: 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage together with 4.5-inch 1280×768 ClearBlack PureMotion HD+ AMOLED display that is protected by Gorilla 3 Glass. Weighing at around 158 grams with a thickness of 10.4 mm, the Lumia 1020 is powered by a 2000mAh battery and supports wireless charging via an optional snap-on cover.
The idea behind the new Pureview camera on Lumia 1020 is pretty much the combination of the high quality imaging capability of Pureview 808 together with the optical image stabilization (OIS) and the low light imaging capability of Lumia 920. Of course, it is done through a new set of hardware such as the latest generation 41-megapixels BSI sensor and second generation OIS system that utilizes ball bearings together with tiny magnetically-driven motors to compensate unwanted movements.

Additionally, there’s also six-lens ZEISS optics together with Xenon flash and LED flash (for video recordings). Nokia stated that the camera is able to capture 34-megapixels and 38-megapixels full resolution image files in 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio respectively while simultaneously captures 5-megapixels oversampled images alongside the full resolution images. It is a feature that Nokia referred to as dual capture.
On top of all that advanced imaging capabilities, the Lumia 1020 comes pre-installed with Nokia Pro Cam app which provides manual controls similar to those on DSLRs. Not to forget, the device also comes with dual microphone setup that is enhanced with Nokia Rich Recording technology as well as a 1.2-megapixels wide-angle front-facing camera.
