As you know, one of my favourite android devices of last year is the HTC One S. The device slotted perfectly in the screen size, specs and price department, making it a perfect choice for me when it came to smartphones. In fact, I still have one I use from time to time as a secondary phone. Today, HTC has essentially made the One S a relic of the past.
“We can confirm that the HTC One S will not receive further Android OS updates and will remain on the current version of Android and HTC Sense. We realize this news will be met with disappointment by some, but our customers should feel confident that we have designed the HTC One S to be optimized with our amazing camera and audio experiences.”
What this means is that the HTC One S will essentially be stuck on the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 platform and if you wanted the Sense 5 ROM, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Time for an upgrade perhaps? Wonder when the smaller HTC One is coming to town.
