You knew this was inevitable: Apple has finally announced the new iPad mini with Retina display. The new 7.9-inch iPad mini not only has the same 2048 x 1536 Retina resolution as the 9.7-inch iPad, but Apple has packed the little tablet with its latest A7 64-bit processor as well, making the svelte tablet even faster. While the new iPad mini got the “least” improvements compared to the iPad Air and the new Macbook Pros, it was certainly an improvement that everyone was waiting for, making it extremely desirable and definitely more so than it’s bigger brother the iPad air.
The new iPad Mini will be available in Black and White and will in stores (US and select countries) come November. No word yet on local availability date. As for pricing, the iPad Mini with retina display will run from US$399 for the Wi-Fi model 16GB and US$529 for the LTE one.
While there is no fingerprint ID or Surface Pro 2 like keyboards, the iPad Mini with retina display certainly is shaping up to be one heck of a tablet.
